About Sustainability Institute
The Sustainability Institute supports Florida A&M University's vision to be a living laboratory of innovations and learning experiences that generate global, sustainable solutions. By partnering with campus and community organizations, the Sustainability Institute works with our internal and external partners to converge, cultivate, and inspire action and leadership for healthier, more prosperous communities. The Sustainability Institute, in concert with the School of Environment, serves as a center for education, practice, and sustainable strategies concerning Energy, Water, and Food. The Sustainability Institute offers a course series that are available to students across campus, regardless of major. Courses in Sustainable Entrepreneurship, GIS, Sustainability Marketing, ESG, and other timely topics will look at the role sustainability plays in our society. Our Speakers Series provides the campus and community the opportunity to hear from business and community leaders about sustainability efforts in north Florida and the surrounding areas. We have campus programs like the SEED garden, the recycling program, and we work with Metz to lower styrofoam waste on the FAMU campus. We’re also working with the Capital Area Sustainability Council to better serve the community. Contact us for more information.
