In July 2017, the USDA Forest Service National Forests in Florida (NFF) and Florida A&M University (FAMU) entered into a partnership to establish the Center for Spatial Ecology and Restoration (CSER). Located on the highest of 7-hills in Tallahassee under the School of the Environment.
CSER's mission is to foster sustainable, efficient land stewardship using innovative geospatial technology and solutions.
CSER is a partnership between USDA Forest Service and Florida A&M University (FAMU). Support for CSER comes from the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration (“RESTORE”) Council, FAMU and the USDA.
FAMU has partnered with the USDA Forest Service to develop solutions for sustainable living.
CSER's vision is to develop and implement scientifically sound geospatial solutions to transform data into environmentally relevant information to advance sustainable and efficient land management, and create an academic-government-industry framework to address ecological challenges and train the next generation of environmental professionals.
